Summer House

The Summer House (Listing Category A) is the heart of the Howietoun Fishery, unique in its design and form, identified as being at risk by Historic Environment Scotland and can be found on the Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland. Due to decades of historic neglect in the maintenance of this and other associated structures on the site, it is now in need of urgent conservation. The restoration of the Summer House is a key to re-establishing the identity of the Howietoun Fishery and its international significance in the history of commercial aquaculture. Stewart Associates are currently being engaged with a view to drawing up a fully costed budget and work plan for restoration of this singularly important structure.
